The YouTube personality has been recognized as the creator of a type of YouTube videos that centers on costly stunts. His main YouTube channel, "MrBeast", is the fifth-most-subscribed on the platform. Donaldson began posting videos to YouTube in the early months of 2012 at 13 years old under the name "MrBeast6000"; his early videos ranged from "Let's Plays" to "videos estimating the riches of other YouTubers." He went viral in 2017 when he released his "Counting to 100,000", video that received thousands of hits in just the span of a few days.
